Swaying Your Hips

"I love swaying my hips when I'm walking", says my dear friend. "I feel very powerful and grounded." She's reviewing my my newly translated book 'What's Most Holy ' A Pleasure-filled Guide to Feminine Leadership (still not released, this was an editing copy) and has just tested one of the 30 practices in the book.
Swaying your hips is by far one of the most fun, and useful, practices to move into your feminine leadership, which always starts below your belt. As soon as I remember, the world shifts. Things slow down, presence moves in, and you are suddenly in sync with life, with a secret smile on your lips.
I was taught this practice back in San Francisco by my Chiropractor and Reiki-teacher, Eric, who told me that I had no contact with my feminine energy. Zero. Zilch. Nada. So he suggested I start with a very basic practice, that is also great for the lower back; namely to sway my hips when walking. 'I can't do that, I said. "I'll be raped, or it will be very embarrassing." He suggested I try it out in safe neighborhoods, and see what happens.
He was right, and that practice gave me my first taste of what feminine energy is. And that there is another reality when I'm not in my head, on my way somewhere, with a deadline, but just being in the present moment, sensually enjoying feeling my hips swish from side to side as I'm sashaying on my way to a meeting. So now I'm giving you the same tip Eric gave me. Give it a try. Practice swaying your hips five minutes daily, and see what happens. And let me know how it goes and feels!
